THE SIBANDA TRIPLETS IN BINGA

In April 2021, the Sabona Trust team went to see the triplets at their homestead in Tatatongwe, Binga. The Sabona Trust team made a quick stop at Tinde Primary school where Mr Sibanda’s (the father of the triplets) children learn. This stop was necessary for needs assessment since the School in most cases is usually aware of homestead situations of its students and members of the community and their living conditions. The team learnt that Mr Sibanda’s children Cuthbert (11 years old) who is in grade 6 and Princess (6 years old) who is in grade 1 together with their cousin Nicole (6 years old) who is in grade 1 as well, walk approximately nine kilometres every day from their homestead to the school making it a total of eighteen kilometres every school day.

The team then presented to the family a grocery hamper which consisted of cooking oil, soya meat, peanut butter, maize meal, sugar, flour, soap and Vaseline. The family was so grateful sighting how difficult it is to raise the triplets not to mention the soap needed to wash their clothes and nappies now and again. In the future, the Sabona Trust team noted that it would be ideal to buy healthy bathing soaps for the triplets which could be significant in fighting germs that could potentially cause rash.

The triplets are doing well and each month money is sent to their father Mr Sibanda for the purchase of provisions needed by the triplets.
